WASHINGTON, D.C. — Americans for Fair Treatment (AFFT) is highlighting North Carolina Senate Bill 1082, legislation that would place the state’s longstanding Right to Work protections in the North Carolina Constitution if ultimately approved by lawmakers and voters.
North Carolina has protected workers through its Right to Work law for decades, ensuring employees cannot be required to join or financially support a union as a condition of employment. Senate Bill 1082 would propose elevating those protections to the state constitution.
“As policies affecting workplace freedom continue to emerge across the country, it’s important that workers understand how these proposals may impact their rights,” said Chip Rogers, CEO of Americans for Fair Treatment. “Our mission is to educate workers about their constitutional freedoms and provide clear, factual information about issues that affect them.”
AFFT will feature the legislation on its Red Pen Podcast, where Rogers and Senior Fellow Corey DeAngelis will discuss the proposal, its potential implications for North Carolina workers, and the broader national conversation surrounding workplace freedom and employee choice.
“Whether someone agrees or disagrees with a particular policy, workers deserve access to accurate information so they can understand how legislation may affect them,” Rogers said.
AFFT will continue to highlight developments affecting constitutional freedom in the workplace and provide educational resources on legislation, legal decisions, and public policy impacting workers across the country.
