WASHINGTON, D.C. — Americans for Fair Treatment announced today that Steven Thomas has joined the organization as Vice President of Development.
Thomas will lead AFFT’s fundraising strategy, including donor development, foundation relations, grant writing, direct mail and small-dollar giving. He will work closely with AFFT’s leadership and external partners to expand the resources needed to protect the constitutional rights of public-sector workers.
“Steven brings the experience, strategic judgment and collaborative leadership AFFT needs as we enter our next phase of growth,” said Chip Rogers, CEO of Americans for Fair Treatment. “He has spent decades building organizations, developing strong donor relationships and advancing causes rooted in freedom. We are excited to welcome him to the team and confident he will help strengthen AFFT’s ability to reach and serve even more public employees nationwide.”
Thomas brings more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising and political consulting. Throughout his career, he has served in executive and board leadership roles with dozens of nonprofit organizations, helped raise tens of millions of dollars and assisted in launching several new organizations.
He has also held public office and worked on hundreds of political campaigns at the local, state and national levels. His experience spans organizational development, campaign strategy, fundraising and coalition building.

Originally from New Jersey and Virginia, Thomas holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts from Georgetown University. He is the father of three children and is committed to preserving freedom for future generations.
