Later this month, one state will start checking with state employees before taking union dues out of their paychecks. Michigan’s Civil Service Commission recently adopted a rule requiring unionized employees to authorize union dues payments every year. The rule is moving forward after, late last week, a federal judge rejected a joint effort by AFSCME, SEIU, and UAW to have the rule invalidated.
