Every day, millions of Americans go to work expecting that the money they earn, the rights they possess, and the decisions they make about their careers belong to them.
Too often, they don’t.
Across the country, public-sector unions collect billions of dollars from hardworking employees while operating with remarkably little public scrutiny. Workers are told where their dues go, but too rarely shown. Political spending is often hidden behind complicated financial reports. Legislative efforts that affect workers’ rights move quietly through state capitols. And when abuses occur, they’re frequently discovered only after the damage has already been done.
That is why Americans for Fair Treatment is launching the Union Accountability Center. It is our national watchdog.
The Union Accountability Center is a real-time hub dedicated to tracking union activity across America—from legislation and litigation to financial disclosures, political spending, worker stories, and breaking news. Our goal is to shine a brighter light on organizations that wield enormous influence over millions of workers and billions of dollars.
If unions are serving workers well, the facts should speak for themselves. If they are spending workers’ hard-earned money on politics instead of representation, workers deserve to know. If elected officials are considering legislation that expands, or restricts, workplace freedom, citizens should be informed before those decisions are made.
Knowledge is power. Accountability begins with information.
Here, you’ll find:
- Breaking news on union activity across the country.
- Data and research exposing where union dues really go.
- Legislative updates from statehouses and Washington.
- Original investigations and analysis.
- Podcasts and interviews with experts and policymakers.
- State campaigns that connect national trends to local action.
- Opportunities for workers to submit tips, share their experiences, and learn about their constitutional rights.
Our mission at Americans for Fair Treatment is to educate, advocate, and litigate in defense of constitutional freedom in the workplace. The Union Accountability Center builds on that mission by giving workers, journalists, policymakers, and taxpayers one trusted place to find the facts.
The best watchdogs don’t simply react. They investigate. They ask difficult questions. They follow the money. And they believe the public deserves honest answers.
That’s exactly what we’ll do here.
Whether you’re a public employee wondering where your dues are going, a reporter looking for reliable information, a legislator considering workplace reforms, or simply someone who believes transparency makes every institution stronger, I invite you to make the Union Accountability Center part of your regular reading.
Because accountability isn’t anti-union. It’s pro-worker.
And every worker deserves the truth.
