Americans for Fair Treatment Applauds Mississippi Senate Bill 2202

Today, Americans for Fair Treatment (AFFT) celebrates the passage of Senate Bill 2202 in Mississippi, a critical victory for public sector employees and taxpayers. This landmark legislation ensures that government workers are no longer compelled to fund union political activities with their hard-earned wages without consent. It reinforces the principle that public payroll systems exist to pay employees, not to subsidize political organizations.

We commend Senator Josh Harkins for his leadership and unwavering commitment to protecting workers’ constitutional rights. His efforts reflect a dedication to transparency, fairness, and the empowerment of individual choice in the workplace.

This legislation mirrors ongoing initiatives throughout the country.  In Oklahoma, the Taxpayer Dollars Protect Workers Act seeks to give public employees the same protections and freedom of choice. We encourage lawmakers in Oklahoma and across the country to support this commonsense approach, ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly and workers retain the right to decide how their earnings are used.

At AFFT, we remain committed to educating, advocating, and litigating to protect constitutional freedom at work. Senate Bill 2202 is a win for workers, a win for taxpayers, and a model for other states to follow.
