Americans For Fair Treatment (AFFT) is launching a new podcast called Red Pen. It’s a fast-paced show focused on holding headlines accountable and examining the biggest stories shaping education, labor, and public policy.
Hosted by AFFT CEO Chip Rogers and AFFT Senior Fellow Corey DeAngelis, Red Pen will break down major news stories each week and challenge the narratives surrounding them.
The show’s premise is simple: take the week’s most talked-about headlines and grade them for accuracy, evidence, and impact.
“Too often the biggest stories in education and labor policy are driven by narratives rather than facts,” said Rogers.
“Red Pen is about marking up those narratives and separating what’s true from what’s spin.”
Episodes will feature a review of each major news story, examining the policy claims behind it, the incentives driving the coverage, and the real-world impact on workers, families, and students.
“We’re done with powerful institutions controlling the narrative around education and labor policy,” said DeAngelis. “Red Pen is about putting those claims under a microscope and grading them based on facts, evidence, and real-world results.”
The show will feature commentary from Rogers and DeAngelis as well as occasional guests including policymakers, journalists, education reform leaders, and former union members sharing their experiences.
Red Pen will stream live on X @DeAngelisCorey Thursdays at 4 PM ET.
