When undercover footage becomes the only way to learn what’s happening inside teachers union conferences, something is deeply broken.
The latest videos from the Montana Federation of Public Employees’ 2025 Educator Conference are shocking, and sadly not surprising. A middle school librarian bragged about restoring explicit books to her library. A DEI art educator compared “censorship” of nude children to Hitler’s Germany. This is what passes for professional development in America’s public schools.
Montana law actually shuts down schools so teachers can attend this conference, and recent legislative efforts to change that mandate have not been successful.
Teachers unions like MFPE no longer represent the classroom professionals they claim to serve. They’ve become political machines pushing radical agendas, funded by taxpayers and shielded from accountability.
Parents shouldn’t have to watch hidden-camera footage to know what their schools stand for. Teachers shouldn’t be forced to fund unions that embarrass their profession.
We shouldn’t have to police these conferences, but here we are.
At Americans for Fair Treatment, we’ll keep shining a light on these abuses and fighting for educators who just want to teach. The future of public education depends on it.
