AFFT Takes Action as New Georgia Project Collapses

The collapse of the New Georgia Project is more than a headline. It’s a warning about what happens when political power operates without accountability.

Earlier this year, Americans for Fair Treatment (AFFT) took action to stand up for the workers at the New Georgia Project by filing an NLRB complaint against Stacey Abrams for unfair labor practices. Employees reported being fired after attempting to organize. This is a clear violation of the National Labor Relations Act.

While the organization’s closure marks the end of a high-profile political operation, the deeper story is about the workers who tried to speak up and were silenced. Their courage, and our commitment to justice, remind us that no one is above the law, and that true fairness must apply in every workplace, not just the ones that fit a political narrative.

At AFFT, we believe:
  • Worker rights must be respected, always.
  • Political power should never shield bad actors from oversight.
  • The collapse of a major group does not erase the need for justice.
This case reinforces why AFFT exists. We work to ensure that workers everywhere are treated with dignity and fairness, regardless of who signs their paycheck or what political party they support.

Accountability matters. Transparency matters. Fair treatment matters, always.
